The Fog Has Lifted Poem by Shalom Freedman

The Fog Has Lifted

The fog has lifted
The weight is gone
Lightness has returned
Singing is in me
Humor also
Light again
And I do not know why-

I do not know why
A natural cycle? Up and Down and Up Again?
Chemistry?
A lost in a cemetery nightmare
That expressed and so eliminated my fears?
A good night's sleep afterwards?
A surprisingly pleasant social evening?
Being out of the shell and out of the house?

I don't know why
Yesterday I was only a failure
And a life story that was to be regretted
Today I am simply alright

I don't know why
But I write now easily and happily

How long will it last
I don't know.

Because it is like that....you will write till destiny drives you--we are controlled somehow by Holy Moses..
