The Five Elements (Senryu Series) Poem by Govind Ramakrishnan

The Five Elements (Senryu Series)

Earth

It's terra firma
Home to homo sapiens
Life as we know it

Water

It can get you wet
Hydrogen and oxygen
Need it when thirsty

Fire

Touch it and you burn
Fueled by natural gas
Needed to cremate

Air

It needs to be pure
Run out of it; you are dead
Best when inhaled fresh

Space

Ever expanding
Holding everything together
Can I have mine please?

Excellent. These can become addictive, but you are a thoughtful and imaginative writer and I look forward to more.
