The First Four~ Poem by Theodora (Theo) Onken

The First Four~

Rating: 4.9

January beckoned us -
And soon came her wintering white
The door once opened 'tis now closed
'Out of mind and now out of sight'

Oh, the winter came in with much verve
Leaving it's first impressions in the snow
It's footprint's shall serve as gentle reminders
Of the places that we shall again never go;

February surely 'twil be warmer
As Eros with his bow reminds us on Valentines Day
Perhaps preparing the sod for the Springtide
And the daffodils & tulips of a greening March day;
March hopefully 'twil be all that we hoped for
With it's new blooms of love reminding us all
That Springtime 'tis indeed, a time for true
Ever heeding our beloved's sweet call;

April, ah April 'tis forever special
For 'tis the month of celebrations of time
Our anniversary of years together comes to us
Yes, celebrating our loving days of roses and wine;

Celebrations of our beautiful Spring wedding
A pale pink rose wedding of sheer delight
St. Timothy held us- while we spoke our vows
Gifting us- -with years of many blessings ever bright;
