The same house housed
An invalid old and an innocent child.
Both need to be tended,
Fed, bathed, clothed and toileted.
One is the feather to the cap
And the other the overgrown nail.
One cries for milk and the other, for death.
One is cheered and the other, ignored.
The child is tomorrow’s unwanted
