The fire in my heart
Burns so bright
It lights up night
It burns for love
It yearns for you
To return the feelings
That it holds for you
It craves escape
To show you the truth
But I pushed it down deep
I locked it inside
And made it hide
For you see I'm afraid
Afraid of the pain
Afraid of the hurt
Afraid to be true
And so my heart stays
Stays locked away
To await the death of my fear
So it can make me true
True to me
True to you
To let its light shine bright
To illuminate the night
