The Final Words You Gasped To Me

The Final Words You Gasped To Me

After the time has
passed us by,
Longing more for time
as we try.

Fewer years we can
spend together,
Discovering our love is
denied forever,
Reflecting back to when our
love did begin,
Wishing you could fight this
battle and win.

You had to keep positive,
you had to try,
You never showed any fear,
you didn't cry,
Sat here with you I have
to appear strong,
Knowing inside every second
without is too long.

Your final moments you
lay there and smile,
Till we meet again, it’s
only a little while,
You’re slowly slipping away lying
there in that bed,
Those final words you gasped,
I remember you said...

'I'm not leaving you no - I'm
right by your side,
Live life to the full, don’t stay
inside and hide,
I will never leave you - no
don’t you see? ,
Because I'm in your heart;
and forever will be.'
