The Final Exit Poem by Somanathan Iyer

The Final Exit

The bright light fading fast
one by one doors are getting closed
old memoirs fill the brain

Repentance crawls for all misdeeds
longs the heart for pardon from affected
detachment displaces all the attachments

Tearful eyes dim the sight
unexpressed words buried deep in the throat
solitude in the midst of all

Among adversities glimpse of joy
satisfaction surfaces for all good deeds done
this final exit no escape!
