The Fairy Tree Poem by Melody Song

The Fairy Tree

Rating: 5.0

The cherry tree, laden down
With Spring’s awak’ning flowers
Has given a home to fairy folk
Inside her blooming bower.

The fairies come, every year
By sunny light and moon,
To celebrate her bonny blooms
With their festive tune.

Soon they sleep and rest their heads
While the weather starts to warm
And are protected from the rain
And from the raging storm.

Her beauty lasts throughout the season
‘Til the flowers start to shed,
Laying down the petalled path
For Summer’s Bride to tread.

Soon other flowers start to bloom
And the fairies take their leave
To find their posy, summer homes
And leave their tree to grieve.
