The Fairy Queen Poem by Rajesh Thankappan

The Fairy Queen

Rating: 5.0

Fairy Queen, Fairy Queen
Where have you been?
I have been to Alwar
Puffing up steam.
Fairy Queen, Fairy Queen
Are you so fond of tourists?
I love them
They love me back
It is a relationship
That we cherish.

The Fairy Queen was withdrawn from service in the year 1909 AD and re-inducted back into active service in 1997 i.e. after a gap of 88 years. I think, this itself should be some sort of record. Thanks Sri Rajnish ji and Akham ji for reading the poem and reviewing it.

I still remember the time when 'Fairy Queen' locomotive was re-inducted in Indian Railways to promote tourism on Delhi-Alwar sector. Thanks for this wonderful poem. Loved reading it. Thanks.
