The Face In The Mirror Poem by Asma Khan

The Face In The Mirror

Another disillusioned day has past
how long will this wait last?

Tears, joys, pains and grieves
an old cask of sorrows will blast

These days will soon vanish in thin air
leaving me behind to pay the cost

The silence in our conversations is heard
when I handed over everything to your heart

All that I have done seems insufficient
overwhelmed and broken, I run out of my own vast

I remember you wrote my name on the mirror's fog
with time it's meaning in your life is lost

Your eyes are cold and so is your heart
how I wonder you left me in this wild frost

Tell the winds to break their way to me
for now in these waters, there is sailor no mast!
