The Evening Has Come Again Poem by Shalom Freedman

The Evening Has Come Again

Darkness rules the outer world
Though the lights of civilization
Try to cancel it-

Darkness is Fear and Loneliness
And Darkness rules the outer world now
And I in my own inner world
Wonder about those strange times
When all Light seems to suddenly disappear
And I am left where only Nothingness is-

Darkness is Nothingness,
And Light is the soul of the Morning,
And I am old,
And love Morning so much-
