The Ending Starts Poem by Kimara Young

I stare out into space for a moment
Time seems to stop
And my mind forms thoughts of you.
Your smile that shines like sunlight in the darkness
Chasing away the shadows
That remind me how alone I really am.
My footsteps quicken
Patience is lost.
I reach out my hand to where I hope you'll be.
Though far,
I can feel your presence grow more near.
Walking down the cracked and broken road
To the end of the earth
I go.
Thats where i'll find you
Where the sadness doesn't reach
And we'll stay there forever.
I close my eyes
In my heart I hold you close.
With every breath
I feel you and I know
We're almost there.
