The End Of The World - For Robin Williams Poem by Kevin Patrick

The End Of The World - For Robin Williams

Rating: 5.0

I've survived the millennium
when Y2K was prophesised
and the Christian rapture ruptured like an embarrassed teenager with pimple
sans common sense and dimples

I've braced the financial downturns
Of the 08 economic crisis
when bankers built a pyramid
and a major deficit toppled
The engines of the world market

I've battled the Mayan codex
When the final baktun ran down And the masses all went sideways
As Hollywood went overdrive
With Box-office apocalypses

But the one thing that's defeat me Is the sudden death of a comedian
who has brought life and its meaning
into the richness of my world That is now nevermore to the lighthouse of my shores

For The death of Robin Williams
Is the real end of my world
