The Empty Room Poem by Viola Grey

The Empty Room

Rating: 3.3

I see the light fade
in your sea greens
as you ponder
unknown troubles
hidden behind
a sullen smile.

Where do you wander
alone in your mind,
turning away
from a heated touch,
cooling your heels
upon a lonely path.

Come back, sweet lover,
empty is this air
without breathing
life into you.
I miss you more
than we ever were,
return to this room...
I miss you.

A nice play of words in this lovely work...i'm torn between celebrating the genius of this piece and grieving sad atmosphere it radiates

Makes me want to take off my sea greens and pot on a robe and sit by a warm fire. GW62

Love your imagery...love your way with words. Who else would write a line like 'I see the light fade in your sea greens...' Great!
