The Embrace With Death Poem by NITHEESH ANNADANAM

The Embrace With Death

Rating: 5.0

As the foamy waves washed my naked feet
A dropp of my tear fell mixed with it.
I stood in that lone island
With no one to talk to or no one to share my ideas with.
I was expelled from the world for doing no crime!
But the people were now very bad.
I stood brooding over my phase next.
A giant wave came close to me, held my legs tightly
And pulled me into her cavern.
'You don`t deserve to live', she screamed,
'What crime have I done? ', I cried,
But she had started snatching my breath away
And I understood how death felt like.
'King or pauper, killing a wrong doer
Is no crime', a voice echoed.
Another giant wave deposited me safely
Back on the sand of the ocean deep.
I staggered back on to my feet
And went back to my world with my sodden body.
'I embraced death and came back alive',
So said I to my people many.
