The Elephant Poem by Kaci Tami

The Elephant

The Elephant
The Elephant is a magnificent beast
Whose existence will abruptly cease!
Unless we stop the slaughter
They will all become deceased

Elephants are hunted
For their Ivory and meat
To be made into delicate rings,
Intricate brooches
Or stylised letter openers

We stop the genocide
For their foot stooled feet
We must stop this wicked trade
And hunt the poachers who
Recklessly kill this animal

Unless we halt the carnage
Like their ancestors the Mammoths
That survived the Ice Age
The African and Indian Elephant
Despite their “Endangered” status
Will be finished, kaput, extinguished!
