The Effect Of A Smile Poem by Georgia Hindmarch

The Effect Of A Smile

Rating: 5.0

How is it, that just a smile;
A simple expression of the face,
Lifts spirits and warms hearts?

It’s a beautiful sort of miracle
If you ask me.

With a smile so lovely as yours,
I’d wager you could bring light
Into the deepest darkness of night,
Making the sparkling stars soar,
Twinkling, brighter than ever before.

With a smile so lovely as yours,
I’d gamble you could halt a war
Soldiers would stop when they saw
Your face, would they begin to adore,
Your smile, brighter than ever before.

With a smile so lovely as yours,
I’d bet you could cure man of grief
One look and he’d have a new motif,
Long gone the sullen frowns he wore,
Grinning, brighter than ever before.

You have that effect on people,
I have noticed.
There is no smile truly
As lovely as yours...

You are a beautiful sort of miracle
If you ask me.

thank you! ! I haven't been writing poems for very long, i have only just enjoyed them. On a whim I decided to write a few to see how I would feel about them, this encourages me! thank you!
