The Earth Poem by Elia Michael

The Earth

One finds beauty everywhere on earth
In the lush green of this pleasant land
In arid expanses of desert
In tropical beaches with white sand

In a place that is called Cape Greco
Which is a rocky scrubland terrain
An idyllic home for the gecko
I visit it again and again

I walk along a narrow dirt track
On my left the aquamarine sea
With the sun shining down on my back
Ahead is an old juniper tree

I stop to rest in its welcome shade
My eyes rest upon the sparkling sea
With its hues of sapphire blue and jade
And I am amazed at such beauty

One finds beauty everywhere on earth
But sometimes we take it for granted
We do not appreciate its worth
See it anew, the earth is enchanted!

A nicely written poem by a poet who obviously finds see the true beauty of our Mother planet. Cape Greco sounds like such a gorgeous place!
