The Eagle And The Wind Poem by Shaun William Hayes

The Eagle And The Wind

Rating: 5.0

The young eagle fell from his nest
There on the cliff so high
Down, down did he fall
But no one heard his cry

Then all at once the wind did blow
And spread his wings out wide
From gloom and fear his life did change
Now master of the sky

Just an off-chance meeting then
Not much the wind had done
But from then on a link was forged
As two became as one

So now where ‘ere this bird does fly
Though feeling quite alone
Deep down inside he knows she's there
As onward does he roam

No word or sign does either give
For true love asks for none
And no one knew as on they flew
Into the setting sun
