The Dusk Of Life Poem by Avery Eglantine

The Dusk Of Life

Long ago your time's quick passin'
Abound a time; bones were broken
Days hath come, youth was stolen
Wish time an end or be frozen

Your coal colored hair is now silver
Upright now not was your figure
Sweet life turned no better, bitter
yet 'twas not time for you to wither

After those years, you're my babysitter
Years run aback an irony in bewilder
Thanks was of no words for me to stutter
Moments agone - just aback thine favor

No precious things that exist in this world;
Be lost in presence - things grow old.
No dear, beloved else, I want to hold;
Forever and ever, to you I behold.

you warmth my cold life with eternal embrace
No doubt, no questions-you are God's grace
yet to him-a wonder, the doubt, mine haze
Di'n't he knew, your lost is my malaise.

'twas neither yet my death nor disgrace
But merciful fate, not you my dear!
'twas neither yet extinction nor misplace
But pity to the inevitable, that's my fear!
