The Drink That Started It All Poem by Marissa Gertmenian

The Drink That Started It All

I am laying upon the pavement
The blood is gushing everywhere
My life is slowly fading
I am almost there.

I remember what had happened
I remember very clear
It started with a sip,
Just a tiny sip of beer.

And then i had another
And I just kept on drinking
I did not listen to my friend
I wasn't even thinking.

And then my last one finally came
And i decided to take a drive
I should have listened to my friend
It would have saved my life.

I didn't see the car coming
I really couldn't see
I pulled out really fast
And the car slammed into me.

I was thrown out of my car
I hit the pavement with a 'Thud'
I couldn't see my wounds
Because of all the blood.

And now were back where we started
The part where I am dying
I can see my friend running,
I can hear them crying.

My vision's slowly fading
I feel my body start to shut down
My eyes begin to go black
And then I hear no sound.
