The Dream Poem by Sahra Hussein

The Dream

Rating: 5.0

I may not have a strong background
Nor am I a well-educated girl
Life may not be easy for me
Nor am I well in mood
But, did I sit back, did I lose my courage?
No.
Many times I have tripped, almost fallen
My little heart bombing in my chest
Have never tired
Knocking at the door of my brain

I believe in the dream in my head
I believe in the responsibility on my shoulders
I believe in the heart rather than the soul
I believe in who I am rather than who you think I am
I believe I could be on the list of people of impact
Because
I understand the five stars before
They fall deep into black holes

The dream lying in my head, the love for my land
The light lighting my heart, the soul all over my body
This all is for my people
in Africa, after my creator,
