The Dragon Poem by felix paintwhenpainted

The Dragon

shivering fins
the dragon makes u feel needles and pins
twisting scaled serpent
is it too late to repent?

before you lies the dragon of your deeds
all comited to fulfill fleeting needs
gaping jagged jaw
sharp teeth expose your inner flaws
bony ridges crackle and creak
as the dragon flexes and makes u realise you are weak

a million oaths you sowed
every promise abandoned, the serpent growed
its eyes burn with glowering rage
as you are crippled by your worthless age
a million things you wished you had done
now everything but the angry dragon is gone

now you must fight against the monster that you created
contructed from when into life you were initiated
you stuck to the preset narrow path
and now you will feel this scaled beauty's wrath
every chance at freedom you ignored
you were to scared and in the dark your dreams were stored

but the dragon was inside you all along
trying but failing to sing its winged song
and now that you finally are too weak to keep it in
its fiery supressed song will sing

the melody will ring of your greatest failure
that you never tried to be your own saviour
