The Divine Human Poem by nithya john

The Divine Human

Rating: 4.5

When he waked out, she cried
Tears in cascade, body shook with heavy sobs
After a few days she lay on her bed
Every energy spent, eyes blank
She wandered about
Dizzy, clouded mind
Walked through the daily chores
Like a puppet in torn coats, bending with he wind
At last one day she met Him at the well,
A pot of water was all He needed
She tried to shoo Him away
But His thirst created a thirst in her.
He said He is the water and she said
'Fill me up'
As she leaned against the well, He filled her up with water
The life giving water, the stream in her desert.
Her tears had a difference now
It was not the salty ones she had shed earlier
But now her tears were sweet,
Sweet with the eternal waters.
She left her pot and ran
She was no longer a puppet
For at the well that noon
She met Him who is divinely humane.
