The Divas Win Again Poem by Justin Gildow

The Divas Win Again

Light flickers on and off
As I walk along these quiet streets
Walking past the many stores
With me ending up at the magazine stand
While reading the headlines on the cover
I have a hand in my pocket
Clutching on to my lucky charms

It's nights like this
That the divas win again
And yet it brings a smile to my face
For I know I'll meet many of you at another time, another place

I pass many of your faces
And you all burn permanently in my mind
And I know I have to admit it to myself
That for tonight, in time and place
That the divas have won again

The divas wins again
How long you girls stay with me it all depends
Yet to me, my life, it doesn't look like it's going to end
In my life, I'm in no hurry to know or wonder where I go from here
So I'll accept for the moment
That you girls have won once more
I certainly accept it for myself
On nights like this
That the divas win again
