The Distinction Of Beauty Poem by Derrick Andrews

The Distinction Of Beauty

The constant, majestic twinkling of stars in navy blue skies
The divine, pulchritudinous fusions of colorful dyes
Appear to be nothing but dung covered flies

Compared to your eyes.

Any statuesque, imperious monument that could be named
Any fierce, untamed shape, procured by a flame
Are nothing more than peasants to the perfection exclaimed

By your unrivaled, symmetrical frame.

The imperial significance of a Queen in times of alarm
The rightcheous demeanor of a monk who causes no harm
Appear to be but foul peasants, raised on a farm

Compared to your charm.

The innocence of a child, not yet juvenile
The structured elegance of the pyramids that parallel the Nile
All appear distraught and defeated, in constant denial

Of the exquisite radiance that is your smile.

The pirouette of a dancer, performed in elegant grace
The ebullient expression of the victor of a race
Both seem weak and feeble, not strong enough to deface

The expression of love, that exists on your face.

The poignant visions of doves flying through
A stunning noon sky, of many colors and hues
Seems to be nothing more, than a definition untrue

For the only true definition of beauty, is you.
