The Diffident Child Poem by John Hazon Palen

The Diffident Child

Rating: 5.0

I noticed the difference
Of how he just feels.
Something in his eyes twinkled,
When Superman waved.

Now in his bedroom there's glow.
Feelings overflow.
But nobody has to know.
In case,
He'd be dead and thrown.

Most of other guys are mean.
Sure with all teasing.
Soon he felt gloomy like rains.
In guise, he'd loose pain.

He decided on that plan.
But deceiving none
Living in a lie, he wants.
For the sake of his loved ones...

All his life he's been hiding,
Convincing himself..
he ain't wonderwoman thing.
But instincts reveal.

A war rages in his mind.
But stars are out tonight.
And they're bound to guide his life
Soothing his self's strife

At last his soul truly settled,
Opened the bible
And had reflected on his role
Ain't rueful at all.
