The Devouring Dove Poem by Josey Alfred

The Devouring Dove

Almighty God chose the dove
And filled with virtues, to suit his need
To spread his message of love to all
And made sure that all is well set,

He sent the dove with olive branch
To spread the love and peace to world
The dove earnest, in mission for peace
Set on her wings, to spread world peace.

At night she sat on a tall tree
To take bit rest, and wait for dawn.
She woke up in dawn rested so fresh
And found a bird sitting with her.

They fell for each and played a while
During that while they fell in love
So they mated and felt it good
The dove felt bad, for her mission was on!

With misty eyes she parted him,
And try to spread the peace of God.
Alas the olive branch was lost!
And could not trace it or her mate!

The search is on, and she keeps the watch
But she could not find that branch of olive.
She laid few eggs, came out some chicks
But all the chicks jet black, now called crows.

The search for peace, we search for it
But it evades us all, for Satan hates peace!
So stick to your path, to achieve your goal,
Don’t go astray, for peace is your goal.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Often we set out, to achieve a certain task, but we get tempted to go off track by some influence and don't achieve the goal. whatever the influence, going astray from a well thought out plan will always leave a sense hurt or disappointment.
