The Desert Night Poem by Yasmin Khan

The Desert Night

Rating: 5.0

Dreaming under the desert starry sky
Thinking of days gone by
Moon walks with me
And sand falls through the fingers
Waves in the sand slumber
Under the feet cool grains quiver
I chase the moon beams
Cup my hands to hold the liquid silver
To soothe my soul burnt under the sun
The whole day long.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM

This poem really provokes the image of a night in the desert in the mind of the reader vividly. It is written very well. The contrast between the cool grains of sand and the burnt soul gives something special to the poem. Excellent

Story of every deserts if would have had been the same, life would not have been deserted with the thoughts.Breezes after a scorching sun are always beautiful as genuine are its feelings imbibed from Rahim Yaar Khan to Ajmer and Jaisalmeer.
