The Demon Of Dreams Poem by Tim Vallie

The Demon Of Dreams

Rating: 5.0

Born into darkness I shy from the light
Descendant of shadow I feed on your fright
I dwell within your darkest dreams
The reason for your sleeping screams
The monster dwelling ‘neath the bed
The thing you think is in your head
I am the thing that goes he bump in the night
The shadows that dwell at the edge of your sight
The reason so many are afraid of the dark
Worry for my bite is worse than my bark
I am your nightmares, all things that you fear
I have been with you through all of your years
Descendant of shadow I feed on your fright
Descendant of darkness I shy from the light
In the midst of darkness I invade your dreams
As a child of nightmares I relish your screams
And now as the sun rises anew
I return to the shadows to wait for you
For you to return to the world without light
For the darkness to come with the coming of night
For in the dark you are my prey
I hunt your soul til’ break of day
