The Deadly Game Poem by Edwina Reizer

The Deadly Game

Killing, killing
'cause men are willing
to follow in ways of the past.
Why? Why?
Why let it last
into the future
and beyond?

Thinking, thinking
thoughts that are sinking
into the depths of hell
Why? , Why?
Why let the bell toll for the dead?
Those that can't respond.

Senseless, senseless,
most are defenseless
to rise up
and say, 'No more.'
Why? Why?
Why must there
always be war?
Because we have been conned.
