The Darkest Night Poem by Richard Cady

The Darkest Night

It's just the darkest night
Before the brightest dawn
It's the most violent part of the storm
Before you'll see the calm

Things are usually really bad
Before they get really good
But anything worth really having
Is worth suffering for

It's true the good things in this life
Are never really free
But if they're truly worth having

You'll suffer through the darkest night
Before you'll see the dawn
And you'll see the most violent storm
Before you'll see the calm

I love the title to this poem. It instantly caught my attention. I really enjoyed the message (my own interpretation of course) it relayed and the way the language was used made a very nice image in my head, almost like a story that unfolded in my mind. I suppose I applied my own life to it, but any how, twas a great read. Thank you for sharing!
