The Dark Forest Poem by Damian Dauthdaert

The Dark Forest

The Dark Forest is fated to be
A place of dreadful misery
The dead may come and never go
Sometimes it is best to go with the flow

A place of the old, weak and dying
Forever calling out those who are crying
The Dark Forest is a place of death
The Dark Forest is a place unkempt

Missing a ruler it's gates stay shut
If you are here you're stuck in a rut
Come into the forest and you shall see
A kingdom with no king down by the sea

As you enter it's gates close fast
Behind you there's a forest of dead one's past
Slowly and surely they begin to rise
Dragging you down heedless, of your cries

Then life is over the time has come
The end is near your life is done
Please come and stay in the forest of none
One day it shall happen the fates will have won
Never again shall you play in the sun
Your time is over and the forest has claimed another one.
