The Cup And The Lip Poem by RAJ NANDY

The Cup And The Lip

THE CUP AND THE LIP

There can be many a slip, between the
cup and the lip;
Though the distance in between, remains
negligible still!
Yet at times the moments therein could
get forever extended,
Making things almost unbearable,
By sudden unexpected happenings!
The ravages of the earthquake, fire,
the Tsunami, and other calamities!
Or when the heart decides to give a mighty
painful squeeze!
Is enough to make the negligible distances
in between, forever freeze, -
Stretching it to infinity!

I always remain grateful to the Lord,
Who has granted those moments, without
taking them for granted!
And seek His blessings as long as I live,
Lest they be taken away in one fell sweep!
