The Country Poem by Christopher Duntsch

The Country

When I heard the river.
A dream of the ocean, was enough.
It was enough.

When I heard the city.
A dream of the country, was enough.
It was enough.

When I heard your voice,
A dream of your life, was enough,
It was enough.

Each day, the rising sun.
And each night, my two sons.
A dream of love.
Of something better.
Both now and ever.
