The Clock Reversed Poem by Steve Santerre

The Clock Reversed

To earth, to man, voyage to and fro
Mars, the moon, dare not say no
The universe is grand, how we must expand!
Survival ensured, we spread, here and there
Until that day falls, we must prepare

A time will come and the balance will be broken
A harmony disturbed, a peace disrupted
A rock in flames, a towering sea, a dissolution.

Purged by nature or by man himself, the initial cause has no meaning
But the end, oh the end I say is of significance, calamities convening

Disaster beyond imagination, the clock reversed
Technology lost, cities and states gone, a voyage to the dawn
Before man and ape, before birds and fish, to the beginning
In light we arrived, of life we are deprived, and death, oh death we face
Farewell human race!

Very well written, and deeply insightful of a possible fate. However, do you not think it possible for us to prepare for the outcome and change the course of destiny?
