The Clan Poem by Nvisible 2Luv

The Clan

Rating: 5.0

We are...
Bound by chance
Challenged by fate
Born to suffer
The pain of each other.
We took it like champs
Today's a new day
But loudly and in volumes
Speaks all we do not say.
Together we sit divided
Each gauges their words well
With the exception of me
Ever compelled to expel.
I'm confused and exhausted
By remote grown-up games
I want to remember
When our hearts played the same.
Building empires in the woods
Conquering tadpoles in the creek
Singing & dancing in the street
I knew those kids who walked by my side
They had my love,
They were all of my pride.
Who can tell me where they roam today?
Why they never seem to be home
When I call them out to play.
I made them a gift
With a big red bow
I couldn't wait
To see their faces aglow.
But the bow was too tight
And them too busy to fidget
So they tossed it aside
Into a pile of old widgets.
So in a pile of old widgets
Is where I reside
They imagine me crazy
And wonder why I hide.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This is a poem about my siblings and how, though as children we seemed so very close, as adults our lives have a tendency to pull us apart from one another.
