The City Poem by Pete Rivera

The City

Darkness after sundown
The spirits would rise
And the shadows were growing

So I rode off to the city
The cathedral in light
And I saw God
In my own way

Crying God will you guide
Day to day
For the ghosts of the city
Will stay

I rode down the streets
And soon they came
Demons were surrounding
Were surrounding me

They said show me this God
Whom you forever obey
He leaves no room for shadows
No room for shadows

Crying God will you guide
Day to day
For the ghosts of the city
Will stay
