The Circle Of Love

Our love to the beholder
Is like a pristine circle
Etched to textbook perfection
But to the man
Standing at the dead center
Of our perfect circle
I can barely gaze
At the sinuous curves
Of our winding circumference
That is the conundrum of our love, my goddess
Flawless as a circle from afar
But relegated to an obscure line from within

Poem of the Day

poet Henry Lawson

The old year went, and the new returned, in the withering weeks of drought,
The cheque was spent that the shearer earned,
and the sheds were all cut out;
