The Cigarette After Poem by Robert Miller

The Cigarette After

last week she said that it had to end
i never thought we had been on the brink
but she said she didn't love me at all
my heart shattered within seconds and died

she denied my charges that she had another one
but i was sure that she was crooked and fake
her best friend confirmed my thoughts
and sent me to sorrow and remorse

and although i have never seen him before
i hate him cause he sleeps with my girl
the only thing i can do right now
is keep my chin up and hope he will fail
