The Chosen People Poem by Sandra Feldman

The Chosen People

Rating: 5.0

Tragedy loves the Jews,
And throughout History,
The Jews have lived Tragically,
No, they did not invent Tragedy,
The Greeks did,
But thru the Centuries they have lived It,
Breathed it, Suffered it, Died in It,
Not at Mount Olympus nor at Mount Sinai,
But in Every Country they ever were.

And Nobody cared,
And Nobody felt sorry,
And Nobody cried,
And Nobody called out,
For their Human Rights!
For their dignity,
For their taken Lives,
Only Tragedy was there,
To accompany them,
Thru the Tragic Days,
Thru the Tragic Nights,
Of their Persecuted Lives.
