The Chosen Few
There are those special people that rises to the occasion
Others that persevere and some that need no persuasion
Refusing to look the other way when troubles start to loom
Remaining positive always when some others only think of doom
Won't ever turn down a challenge when the opportunity arises
Sure to stand out from the crowd without the use of any guises
The ability to withstand the storms on dark and gloomy days
Never giving in to adversity no matter what anybody does or says
Remains ever on the battle fields of life just to win their war
Always fighting for a worthy cause no matter how near or far
They are those silent heroes who've fought unknown by me or you
May not be on the front lines but still they are the chosen few

Yes, there are such people who remain undaunted on the face of danger, who are always positive, who needn't be persuaded or coersed into action when need arises, who are ready to fight for a noble cause even at the risk of their own popularity or gain. Such people may not be often noticed and prefer to stay behind the curtain, unwilling to come to the lime light. They may not be in the front lines..... Still they are the chosen few! Such people keep the world going! A spontaneous, free flowing poem..... enjoyed, Pat!
Very eloquent write. Yes these heroes are found in every day life. Always standing up for occasion simply because their heart and conscience demands it. Big salute to these people.

Very nice expression of a truth which touches the hear.Yes there are those few warriors who fight valiantly against all the odds silently keeping them behind and unknown. My homage and honor to those heroes.
