The Chataka Bird Poem by Jujutshu Kumar Deb

The Chataka Bird

Flooded with love
My lips floated and tossed
Words stabbed the silence
Rung in the corridors of my mind
Forming the song of love.
Shyness attacked again and again
Like a tempest,
It seemed as if it would sweep the sky of words.
Mustering all courage
With lions boldness
And Herculean efforts
I made you understand
You turned cold
And walked away to think of other things
The flood of love burst forth in tears,
Now dry, feeling lost
I wait for rain.
