The Carousel Keeps Turning In Tampa Bay Poem by Justin Gildow

The Carousel Keeps Turning In Tampa Bay

Here in Tampa Bay
Memories come flooding back
The waves that crash upon the shore add to the feelings of nostalgia
The sun does its job hanging in the sky
And the soft wind brings memories of the past my way

Even after all these years
Even after all this time
The carousel keeps turning in Tampa Bay

The carousel circles around and around
Filled with joyful music and a sense of cheer
The kids and parents share and embrace the thrills
As their laughter reaches over the hills

I sit on a bench
Munching away on a box of popcorn
And I'm reminiscing of special times
Remembering the days of Tracy Williams, Ashley Niven, Lydia Bell, Lauren Mayhew, Kristy Scott, and Chelsea Lovett

The night is all lit up by the many stars
The lights all around here are turned on
Adding a festive look
While the carousel keeps turning in Tampa Bay

I stand by an iron fence
Watching the waves crash upon shore
And behind me the fireworks go off all around
