The Caretakers Mistress Poem by Kewayne Wadley

The Caretakers Mistress

Rating: 5.0

On this day I decided to write
to you once more
I miss the hands that use to sooth
me with every touch they decided to give
the days don't seem as bad
but the nights echo your voice
as the winds contunue to whisper
through the old plywood
and the bright colored hues we both
picked out together
I use to hate this job
and the loneliness
that fills the coffins I watch nightly
but everything I didn't understand
now makes since
sometimes they talk to me
they reveal the pieces of my life that
I sorely took for granted
it's crazy how the simplicity
of something so simple can
mean the world
once the world you once knew ends
the only voice I long to hear is yours
this whole time I was chasing a
dream that in the end turned out
to be my own
I only wanted to provide the things
that I never had
that deep down I knew we both
dreamt of
but never once would I have thought
that i'd be the only one to watch the
sun rise on a dream that we both
built hand in hand
I miss you more than words can bare
I can still see your face whenever I close my eyes
my nights have gone sleepless
trying to forget but my Alzheimer's won't let me
On this day I decided to write
you once more
I miss the hands that use to sooth
me with every touch they decided to give
as I still stand and wait
not realizing that your heaven is
paved with streets of gold
and mine is paved only with the
intention of seeing you once more

I miss the hands that use to sooth me with every touch they decided to give the days don't seem as bad but the nights echo your voice as the winds contunue to whisper very fine expressions. tony

Tearful, those last few lines break the links in my cynics armour, true love is an ageless constant of truth and beauty and undying bond. Those last four lines are just soul eclipsing, Great stuff
