The Canvas Of Life Poem by Doc Wilde

The Canvas Of Life

If I had the colors of the rainbow, and a canvas to paint on.
I paint the story of my life, before my time on Earth is gone.
I'd paint my trials and tribulations, all of the things that I've been through.
But most importantly I'd paint a picture of the love I have for you.

I'd paint my hopes and all of my dreams, on that canvas in the sky.
I'd paint those precious memories, before my last goodbye.
I'd paint a picture of the heavens, where someday I'll stand beside Gods throne.
I'd paint a picture of my family, and of our happy home.

I'd paint a picture of my neighbors and of the friends that I have met.
I'd paint a picture of my Savior, him I won't forget.
I'd paint a picture of the world striving to find peace.
I'd paint a picture of my prayers to God, asking that hate, racism and greed would one day cease.

But alas I'm not an artist, just a humble servant of the Lord.
Trying to be a better person is a goal I work toward.
I say my prayers and try to be the best that I can be.
I'm thankful for the blessings that God has given me.

Someday when I'm older and my time on Earth is through.
And I look back on my life, and at all of the things I've tried to do.
I'll say goodbye to my family, to my friends and to my wife.
Then I'll add the final touches to the canvas of my life.
