The Candle Light... Poem by Rey Sanidad

The Candle Light...

Rating: 5.0

My young friend shows like a thing of light
In the shadowy deeps of a fair window
Grown round with flowers.

She is naked underneath her dress
and leans backrward, her flesh like frost
gathers the candle light beyond her bed.

Only the hair made ready for the night
Suggests the charm of white satin dress.
Her black eyebrows are the shape of very young moons.

The candle light casts a shadow that overflows
In a pure lonely dream.

She lifts one arm into an urgent line,
Heating her rose fingers
On the amber color of the candle light.

If I could choose my service,
I would be the candle light
Dashing over her in the moonlight.
