The Cage Poem by Tyler Burke

The Cage

Was found alone
Was found astray
All that's wrong
will come today.

Its time to leave
My place of thought
My final heave
Or here I'll rot

I'm in this cage
A final stage
And all I have
Is but this rage.

My mind lost, screams
My heart cold, burns
My eyes look, darkness
But lips shut, silent

How am I to act
If I am not I
But I am but not
My previous I?

Losing myself
Inside this cage
Losing myself
If I still am myself.
