The Butterfly Poem by Richard Netherland Cook

The Butterfly

The Butterfly

The Butterfly with graceful wings,
Beauty into the garden brings,
To wild away the many hours,
Fluttering about the garden flowers.

A flower crown its' resting place,
Spreading wings of fragile lace,
Roving through a summer day,
Flower to flower in a carefree way.

Taking to a blissful flight,
To kiss the Jasmine in pure delight,
To flit and flutter, float and hide,
Among the flowers far and wide.

Special, beautiful, soaring up high,
My delicate, colorful butterfly,
About the garden the rounds it makes,
Sweet nectar from the flower takes.

Now answering to a beckoned call
Far beyond the garden wall,
Against a scene of bright sunlight,
It flutters away in silent flight.
