The Burning Sun Poem by Patrick Dumas

The Burning Sun

The Burning Sun came rising-
it rose into the sky.
I sat and smoked the herbs
as the birds began to fly.

The Burning Sun went falling-
it fell into the sea.
The ocean put her out,
there was nothing left but me.

A Blue Moon came rising-
it’s now brighter in the night.
The forest was dark,
except for lunar light.

A Yellow Moon came rising-
bigger than the sky.
Wolves began to howl,
as the girl began to cry.

Have you ever seen a sunset
whose colors are green?
Her eyes have shown me
the most beautiful one I’ve seen.
